“My experience of Iran was altogether delightful, far exceeding my expectations. The 16 day ‘Simply Persia’ bus journey from Tehran to Shiraz was amazing. I loved Iran, its wealth of great architecture in public buildings, bazaars stuffed with gorgeous things to take home as mementos or gifts, palaces rich with mirrored walls and ceilings, mosques, domes, gardens, fountains, gilt, richly multicoloured tiled domes, memorials and mausoleums, the fabulous Treasury, and the exquisite handcrafts, mosaics, miniatures, leather and wood works, marble and alabaster, mimbers and mihrabs. It was thrilling to see the Tomb of Cyrus the Great at Pasargadae and to wander through the spectacular archaeological site of Persepolis. Our small group was privileged to include two experienced archaeologists.”
